설문은 물음을 마련한다는 뜻의 한자어이다. 묻는 사람의 의도에 따라 질문도, 돌아오는 답도 달라질 수 있다. 이 수업의 결과물은 모두 설문에 의지하고 있다. 공공장소에 설문지를 비치하거나 온라인 양식을 배포했으며, 친분이 있는 이와의 심도 깊은 인터뷰를 시도했다. 전문 기관이 실시한 대규모 설문의 결과를 살펴보거나, 자신의 창작물에 대한 평을 듣기 위해 설문을 활용하기도 했다. 그렇게 모은 대답을 사진과 그림으로, 통계와 에세이로 바꾸어 책과 포스터에 실었다. 최선을 다해 생각을 빌려준 응답자들 덕분에, 혼자의 지식과 경험으로는 만들 수 없는 프로젝트가 태어났다.
설문(seol-moon) is a word that means to prepare a question. Depending on the intention of the person asking, the question and the answer may vary.
The results of this class are all dependent on the questionnaire. We provided questionnaires or distributed online forms in public places, and attempted in-depth interviews with acquaintances. We also looked at the results of a large-scale survey conducted by a specialized institution or to hear reviews on our creations. The collected answers were converted into photos and pictures, statistics and essays, and published in books and posters. Thanks to the respondents who lent their best thoughts, this project, one that could not be created with an individual’s own knowledge and experience, was born.
