반음계
Chromatic scale
조성(Tonality)은 으뜸음을 기준으로 만들어지는 음들의 체계로 질서와 통일을 가지게 되는 현상을 말한다. 이 질서를 이루는 온음의 주변에 존재하는 반음들은 조성의 체계에서 해방되어있다. 반음계는 곡 구성에서 장식적으로 쓰여 작품을 특별하게 한다.
우리는 졸업 프로젝트를 어떠한 기준, 틀에 ‘맞는’ 디자인 결과물을 만드는 것이 아니라, 대상을 느끼고 탐구하는 기회로 삼는다. 사적이지만 개인에게 특별한 경험을 시작점으로 그 내용을 체계와 질서 안에 구성하여 본인의 색을 전할 수 있는 결과물을 만든다. 반음계(Chromatic scale)의 접두사 “chroma”는 색이라는 뜻이다.
Tonality refers to a system where the tonic acts as a standard to bring order and unity to different tones. The chromatic scale that exists around the ordered whole tones is free from systematic tonality. The chromatic scale, used as a decorative component, differentiates an art piece in a musical composition.
We aim to grasp a chance to feel and investigate the subject, instead of creating a work that fits a certain standard. Starting from one’s personal experience, we organize the content in an orderly and systemic manner to create an outcome that can deliver one’s distinct color. The prefix of ‘Chromatic scale’, ‘chrom’ refers to ‘color’.
